thus far"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This is, thus far, the longest-term quilting <\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_931\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\" style=\"width: 450px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/DWR-2006.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-931 \" alt=\"Double Wedding Ring\" src=\"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/DWR-2006.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"337\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Double Wedding Ring<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">project I&#8217;ve made.\u00a0 It was started in 1989 and finished in 2006 as a gift for DH Bob in thanks for tolerating me through the years of our long marriage.\u00a0 Each piece was individually scissor-cut.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">During the 17 years it took to make, there was much time it was put aside as I made other quilts and when life got in the way.\u00a0 When the top was finished, I used it to entice Bob to built the quilt frame of my dreams.\u00a0 As soon as the frame was complete, this quilt was loaded, and a custom quilting design was developed.\u00a0 I call the design &#8216;daisies and darts&#8217; which perfectly describes our marriage.\u00a0 We are daisy-poor and we both have tempers as sharp as darts.\u00a0 The center of each daisy has a circle within a circle, where I used our wedding rings as the template.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Fabric for this quilt came from my own scrap bag of fabric pieces left from making clothes<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1015\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\" style=\"width: 378px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/DWR-detail.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1015 \" alt=\"Quilting detail\" src=\"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/DWR-detail.jpg\" width=\"378\" height=\"298\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Quilting detail<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">for myself and family and from that of my grandmother, <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">who was my quilting teacher\/inspiration.\u00a0 When she saw this Double Wedding Ring pattern, she made several, using her scraps and some of mine.\u00a0 My stash misses getting together with her for trading fabric.\u00a0 She also loved scrappy quilts and the added variety made them even better.\u00a0 I love laying under my quilts and remembering where the fabric originated.\u00a0 Each quilt contains a lifetime of memories.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The quilt was completed with a &#8216;scallop and point&#8217;
