{"id":2387,"date":"2014-11-04T12:58:33","date_gmt":"2014-11-04T18:58:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/?p=2387"},"modified":"2015-01-02T13:49:18","modified_gmt":"2015-01-02T19:49:18","slug":"another-beginning-on-a-continuing-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/?p=2387","title":{"rendered":"Another beginning on a continuing project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-2389\" src=\"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Urban-Renewal-quilting-begun.jpg\" alt=\"SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES\" width=\"439\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Have had the Urban Renewal quilt top sandwiched for over a week.\u00a0 Because of never-ending interruptions, the hand basting (which SHOULD have taken 2 days) took a week to complete.\u00a0 I hope I don&#8217;t come to regret that I forgot to iron the quilt backing before basting.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not thrilled with the wrinkled appearance.\u00a0 I&#8217;m being extra-careful to keep from quilting in creases.<\/p>\n<p>I began the quilting process last night and am totally enjoying it.\u00a0 This top is being hoop quilted in my lap at night as I watch movies on my computer.\u00a0 Last night, I enjoyed &#8216;Savannah&#8217; and &#8216;The Physician&#8217; as I quilted 10 units.\u00a0 I liked both movies.<\/p>\n<p>For those interested in the details, I&#8217;m using Hobb&#8217;s Poly-Down batting and a light grey and black &#8216;stone&#8217; 108&#8243; wide backing (trimmed).\u00a0 The thread is black YLI Quilting <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Urban-Renewal-quilting-begun-back.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-2388\" src=\"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Urban-Renewal-quilting-begun-back.jpg\" alt=\"SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES\" width=\"438\" height=\"315\" \/><\/a>40\/3 ply.\u00a0 The needles for this project are R.J.
