{"id":2162,"date":"2014-06-20T14:34:27","date_gmt":"2014-06-20T19:34:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/?p=2162"},"modified":"2014-06-20T14:40:43","modified_gmt":"2014-06-20T19:40:43","slug":"thar-she-grows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/?p=2162","title":{"rendered":"Thar she grows!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Been working more on Urban Renewal <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Urban-Renewal-062014.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-2163\" src=\"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Urban-Renewal-062014.jpg\" alt=\"SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES\" width=\"488\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><\/span>this week and she grows a little larger each day.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve finished cutting probably more pieces than I need and work on assembling the individual units as I relax at night.\u00a0 I like how it&#8217;s coming along.\u00a0 Thus far, it measures approximately 45&#8243; x 24&#8243;.<\/p>\n<p>Each time I walk past it, I rearrange units.\u00a0 Upon studying this photo, I see more re-arranging to do.\u00a0 With the exception of the blue in the lower left corner, all units are unique.\u00a0 I have another dozen unique units ready to be stitched before beginning repeats.<\/p>\n<p>Although only about half of my print stash (and none of my batiks or solids) is represented, this quilt allows me to see my overall scrap stash.\u00a0 I&#8217;m pleased with the variety.<\/p>\n<p>In this morning&#8217;s walk through the garden, I notice the first blushing tomatoes.\u00a0 Many have gone from totally green to showing some red and several are the size of grapefruit!\u00a0 Exciting!\u00a0 Propane is purchased, jars and lids are accessible, ice is made, the canner is washed, the jar lifter is located and my knife is sharpened.\u00a0 I&#8217;m ready to start canning ripe tomatoes!<\/p>\n<p>Shirl<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Been working more on Urban Renewal this week and she grows a little larger each day.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve finished cutting probably more pieces than I need and work on assembling the individual units as I relax at night.\u00a0 I like how it&#8217;s coming along.\u00a0 Thus far, it measures approximately 45&#8243; x 24&#8243;.
