02\/09\/15 – <\/strong>After hearing from a special person undergoing medical treatments, I began still ANOTHER Winding Ways sofa-size quilt.\u00a0 I need this one as fast as possible so am cutting pieces from batik already on my cutting table.\u00a0 No time to pull new cloth from the stash.<\/p>\n

02\/20\/15 – <\/strong>I’ve been hand stitching blocks as quickly as possible and am only a third of the way finished.\u00a0 Think I’ll abandon hand stitching and machine sew the rest of the blocks.\u00a0 I’ve planned and begun cutting a batik piano key border which will also be machine stitched.\u00a0 I expect this quilt to receive heavy use and multiple washings so machine piecing may be the best bet.<\/p>\n

02\/26\/15 – <\/strong>Blocks are done and stitched together.\u00a0 For a visual separation of the blocks from the piano key border, I’ve added a 2″(finished) mottled black frame.\u00a0 Today, I’m attaching the border and mitering the corners.\u00a0 Later:\u00a0 top is complete!\u00a0 Measures 67″ x 58″<\/p>\n

03\/13\/15<\/strong> – Putting in long hours of hand stitching each day.\u00a0 Have finished quilting the main body and 2 of the 4 sides of the border.\u00a0 After putting in 17 hours of hand quilting yesterday, my hands HURT so taking some time today to rest as I design the label.\u00a0 If nothing goes askew, I will have this quilt completed, labeled and laundered before the self-imposed deadline.<\/p>\n

03\/22\/15 <\/strong>– Stitching is finished!!\u00a0 Binding is on and label is embroidered and attached.\u00a0 All that’s left is hand washing which will be done tomorrow while DH is away at the doctor’s office.\u00a0 Hopefully, the sun will be out so I can take photos then.\u00a0 Total time from cutting the first piece to binding and adding the label – 41 days!<\/p>\n
