I don&#8217;t have to match points or color within the lines&#8230;.the funkier the better!\u00a0 Have no clue what I may do with these 6&#8243; blocks but anytime I feel a little wild, I&#8217;ll make more!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1959\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" style=\"width: 399px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Wonky-Star.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1959\" src=\"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Wonky-Star.jpg\" alt=\"Wonky Stars\" width=\"399\" height=\"501\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Wonky Stars<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>10\/08\/14:\u00a0 <\/strong>Since I finished hand stitching &#8216;Urban Renewal&#8217;, I was in the mood to do some machine piecing.\u00a0 I dug out this UFO (Un-Finished Object) and played.\u00a0 For some reason, I was under the impression 30 blocks would make a nice size sofa quilt.\u00a0 WRONG!\u00a0 30 blocks only make a nice size DOG quilt.\u00a0 Today, I&#8217;m cutting more fabric for more blocks while I contemplate my next hand stitched project.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a toss up between hand quilting a finished top or starting a new one.<\/p>\n<p><strong>02\/21\/15:\u00a0 <\/strong>I&#8217;ve once again dug this from the UFO pile and stitched more blocks.\u00a0 I like how the stars appear to be twinkling in a funky, silly, wonky way. \u00a0 I now have enough blocks to make a nice-sized sofa quilt.\u00a0 Today, I&#8217;ll begin stitching them together and deciding on borders.<\/p>\n<p><strong>03\/22\/15:\u00a0 <\/strong>After measuring the width of this sofa quilt, I decided it would benefit from another row (10 blocks) of stars.\u00a0 I finished making them today and have stitched the rows together.\u00a0 It currently measures 59 \u00bd&#8221; x 48&#8243;.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Wonky-Sofa-.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2555\" src=\"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Wonky-Sofa-.jpg\" alt=\"SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES\" width=\"541\" height=\"330\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>04\/23\/15:\u00a0 <\/strong>Scrappy border has been added and basting is done.\u00a0 Quilting has begun.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Wonky-Stars-wborders-basting-and-begun-quilting.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2611\" src=\"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Wonky-Stars-wborders-basting-and-begun-quilting.jpg\" alt=\"SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES\" width=\"551\" height=\"413\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>05\/05\/15:\u00a0 <\/strong>Finished quilting the four patch squares and am half finished with the stars.\u00a0 Haven&#8217;t decided how I&#8217;ll quilt the border.\u00a0 It&#8217;s coming along!\u00a0 Here&#8217;s a picture of the back:<a href=\"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Wonky-Stars-back-quilting.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2606\" src=\"http:\/\/www.shirlsu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Wonky-Stars-back-quilting.jpg\" alt=\"SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES\" width=\"551\" height=\"413\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>06\/19\/15:\u00a0 <\/strong>Time to stick a fork in it cuz this baby&#8217;s done!!\u00a0 I finished the binding last night and hand washed it this morning.\u00a0\u00a0 It finished at 53 \u00bd&#8221; x 65&#8243;.\u00a0 Photos and more description will follow (after I clean storm debris from the deck).<\/p>\n<p><strong>06\/20\/15:\u00a0 <\/strong>This was such a fun quilt to make.\u00a0 When assembling the blocks, I simply pulled out my pre-cut 2\u00bd&#8221; squares and separated them into dark and light for the backgrounds and star centers.\u00a0 The star points were pulled from my ever-growing tiny scraps bin.\u00a0 The border is made from light 2\u00bd&#8221; strips and the label was (obviously) hand embroidered on a fabric scrap.<\/p>\n<p>The stars were quilted near the ditch and the 4-patch segments were stitched\u00a0 \u00bc&#8221; from the ditch.\u00a0 The border was quilted in a design known as &#8216;Woven&#8217; from a stencil I made myself.\u00a0 I like it and will use it again.<\/p>\n<p>After reading <a href=\"http:\/\/quiltville.blogspot.com\/2015\/06\/narrower-binding-tutorial-re-cap.html\">Bonnie Hunter&#8217;s tutorial<\/a> for narrower bindings, I decided to give it a try using trimmings left over from the Split-16 quilt already on the cutting table.\u00a0 I love how fate can often provide the perfect materials for a project!\u00a0 Thanks Bonnie!\u00a0 I absolutely <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;
